head to head..

As we were finishing the pigs head problem another one turned up. A MK1 Vitesse chuffing from the rear carb due to blown head gasket between no 5 and 6 cylinders.Nice replacement copper gasket on and all done.

Buggered

This is what was found after a friends Reliant Pig came in for a tune up complaining of not running nice enough even after having the RAC out to inspect the car telling him it was the SU carb that was at fault.
We opened the rocker cover to find a siezed valve broken spring and cap, looking further we found that the exhaust valve seat had fallen out wrecking the whole engine.
A replacement s/h 850 engine is going in tomorrow, good runner too as we had it fired up in the back of my transit van today.

Not bad..

Not a bad turnout at the Triumph night , lots of different cars to look over and good to see some old faces..
Will have to try and get this meeting back up the Weavers Arms Fillongley where it belongs.. not to keen on the bull n butcher or the 2 mile walk to the bar.

Tuesday night (5th) at the Bull n Butcher in Corley moore , north of Coventry.
TSSC and TR Register will be there , a couple of brummies , some coventry hoodlums ,and me in my Coupe.

Workshop pics..

With all the cars safely in for the night , thought it was time for some workshop car pics. Full house at the moment with 2 cars going to the paint shop at the end of the week and 3 cars being collected at the weekend , should be able to get some sort of normality back as just about catching up again with lost time during the move.
Will be able to get really stuck in to the full rebuild projects soon especially the yellow 2.5 pi spitfire in the pic as this will be a real nice one having new chassis, wings floors sills bonnet,shell dip striped, body /chassis in black , big brakes and wheels all being powered by a race spec 2.5 EFI engine. Nice !
There will be a build report page on the website covering all aspects of the build to help anyone wanting to do this kind of full rebuild but lacking in confidence.. its only nuts n bolts..
